How to complete an HVAC takeoff with DuctCount

The basic workflow moves from a PDF drawing to measured, categorized, and exportable takeoff information.

1. Choose a PDF drawing. Use Choose File and select the mechanical print you want to review.
2. Apply the drawing scale. Select a known scale or calibrate against a known measurement.
3. Create areas or rooms. Separate floors, suites, rooms, or phases so summaries remain useful.
4. Measure and count. Add duct runs, pipe, fittings, accessories, equipment, notes, and insulation details.
5. Review Area Summary. Confirm quantities and select individual marks when you need to locate them.
6. Save your work. Save a named DuctCount project before changing drawings or takeoff types.
7. Export results. Create an Excel takeoff or use the dashboard price list for ordering and estimating.
